The Konica C35 is a popular series of compact, automatic-exposure 35mm film cameras known for their ease of use and sharp Hexanon 38mm f/2.8 lens. First introduced in 1968, the various C35 models were highly successful as lightweight, portable cameras ideal for everyday photography.

- Lens: The camera features a high-quality, four-element-in-three-groups Hexanon 38mm f/2.8 lens that delivers sharp, contrasty images.
- Exposure: It uses a fully automatic, shutter-priority programmed exposure system with a CdS light meter, which makes shooting simple; the user just needs to focus and shoot.
- Focusing: The original C35 includes a coupled rangefinder for accurate focusing, a key feature for its time, allowing focus from 1 meter to infinity.
- Shutter: It has a Copal B mat programmed leaf shutter with speeds ranging from 1/30 to 1/650 sec.
- Portability: With an aluminuim top and bottom cover, the camera is lightweight (around 380g) and compact, designed as a "journey" or travel camera.
- Flash System: It features a hot shoe for an external flash and an automatic flashmatic system for correct flash exposure with compatible Konica flashes.
